Manager Imports & Logistics

Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) owns, operates and maintains the largest Thermal Power Plant in Pakistan, located at Kot Addu, District Muzaffargarh Punjab. It has a total capacity of 1600 MW power generation with 15 Power Generating Units of Siemens, GE, Fiat and Alstom design. The company currently has the above career opening based at Kot Addu, District Muzaffargarh.

This is a sectional head position reporting to Senior Manager Contracts & Procurement.

■       Independently handle import and export-cum-import of machinery, spare parts and services for the power station within stipulated time frame to meet the deadlines of routine maintenance and outages.

■       Understand, interpret and comply with Import & Export Policies, Customs Tariff, SROs issued by CBR, SBP Prudential Regulations and other Government rules & regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported items;

■      Source, evaluate and develop best international suppliers from the market to receive the most cost-effective material and services;

■      Select high quality and most economical freight forwarders, shipping mode and local transportation;

■       Ensure retirement of Bank Guarantees and Indemnity Bonds within stipulated time period.

The candidate must:

■       Have an MBA from a reputed local /foreign university; MBA with an engineering degree will be preferred;

■       Have minimum 12 years experience with at least 5 years working as a manager/team leader, handling imports for a multinational or any local organization;

■      Be a quick decision maker with strong analytical and negotiation skills;

■       Have a dynamic, proactive and result oriented approach;

■      Be able to interact effectively at all levels within and outside the organization;

■      Be around 35 years of age.
