- Graduate of an accredited Certified Ophthalmic Technician program.
- Current JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
- Specialized training in ophthalmic ultrasound, including standardized A-scan, contact B-scan and Doppler modalities.
- Minimum
of two (2) years’ applicable ophthalmic ultrasound experience; must
have successfully passed the written and practical US exam LV II.
- Must
be proficient in clinical skills/knowledge in diagnostic ultrasound /
biometric / keratometry techniques, intraocular and orbital pathology
and differentiate pathology.
- Knowledgeable in UBM and OCT desirable.
- Membership
in the American Association of Ophthalmic Standardized Echography
(AAOSE) or an equivalent professional organization preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer technology desirable.
- Must be fluent in oral and written English.
