| PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE |

Minimum
of 7 years of experience in agricultural field in Northwest Frontier
Province and Pakistan in design, construction, and operation of
irrigation schemes, including retention dams, on-farm distribution
systems and modern techniques for on-farm application is required.
Management level with irrigation development is preferred. |
| Description of Duties |
: |
The
incumbent will be a senior Foreign Service National who provides
management support, representation and technical advice for USAID
Pakistan's agricultural activities in the Federally Administered Tribal
Areas and Northwest Frontier Province (FATA/NWFP). Based in Peshawar,
the incumbent will play a lead role in ensuring that USAID's
agriculture program responds to local needs and realities,
reflects international technical standards and best practice, and
supports USAID's overall objectives in Pakistan. In order to
successfully execute her/his duties, the incumbent will have extensive
experience in agriculture and a solid understanding of the
opportunities and limitations to agricultural development in Pakistan. |

required. Written and spoken Pashtu proficiency is required. |
| Knowledge |
: |
The
incumbent will have extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector in
Northwest Frontier Province, including opportunities and constraints.
He/she will have a working knowledge of project design and management,
including strategic planning and budgeting, operations, quality
assurance/quality control, and evaluation. Familiarity with the roles
of key institutional players in the agricultural sector, including the
Government of Pakistan is essential. |

Selection Process
When
equally qualified, US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore it
is essential that the candidates address the required qualification

Location
The
applicants should identify their preferred location of service in their
application. Currently the locations are (a) Islamabad, (b) Karachi,
(c) Peshawar, and (d) Lahore.
